School Start & Support

Welcome! We are excited that you made the choice to join us here at Virtual Prep Academy of Indiana @ Madison-Grant. We look forward to supporting you in your school journey. Monday, March 1st is your first day of school and there are several things that you will need to accomplish this week to make sure you are set up for success. Below you will find your assignments and instructions on how to complete them.

You have been shipped a school provided computer. If you have not received that computer by Sunday, February 28th, please reach out to one of the team members below for assistance.

Log-In and account information will be sent to you in a separate email. If you do not see that email, please check your email junk folder.

Monday

Live Orientation Session: two Live Orientation sessions will be held, it is mandatory that you attend 1 of the 2 offered sessions.

• Live Orientation Session 1: 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM
• Live Orientation Session 2: 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM
• Orientation session links can be found in the Communication section of your course dashboard.  

Online Course Tutorials: complete the Resources module at the beginning of each course.  Inside each of your academic course cards click Activities on the left-hand side and begin working through the Resources folder. This will teach you how to get started, key learning coach tasks, and how to navigate the system to access student learning.

Tuesday & Wednesday           

iReady Testing: testing helps us understand what your student knows today, so goals can be set for academic growth and mastery of state standards. Students will take the iReady assessment for reading and math.

• iReady Reading assessment will be administered on Tuesday, March 2nd at 9:00 AM.
• iReady Math assessment will be administered on Wednesday, March 3rd at 9:00 AM.
• The iReady session links can be found in in the Communication section of your course dashboard. 

Live Help Sessions: live help sessions will be available every afternoon Tuesday through Friday at 1:00 PM.  Feel free to drop in if you have any questions or need help.  The live help session links can be found in the Communication section of your course dashboard. 

Academic Course Work: continue to work through the content of each subject’s course tutorial located in the Resources folder. Once you have completed the online course tutorial for each subject, your student can begin to work in each of his or her assigned courses. Students should follow their daily plan. Please note – live instruction with teachers will not begin until Monday, March 8th. Students’ individualized learning plans will be discussed in their individual introduction meeting with their teacher.

*The schedule for live sessions will be shared during your live Orientation Session.

Thursday & Friday

Meet Your Teacher: Thursday and/or Friday morning everyone can stop by and meet their teacher. Join us for a quick get-to-know-you conversation, see the virtual classroom, and meet other students/families.

The Meet Your Teacher Session link can be found in the Communication section of your course dashboard. 

Live Help Sessions: live help sessions will be available every afternoon Tuesday through Friday at 1pm.  Feel free to drop in if you have any questions or need help.  The live help session links can be found in in the Communication section of your course dashboard. 

Academic Course Work: your student should continue to work in each of his or her assigned courses, following the daily plan.  Remember that live instruction with teachers will not begin until Monday, March 8th.  Students’ individualized learning plans will be discussed in their individual introduction meeting with their teacher.

If you are logging in on a school provided computer, please complete the following steps:

1. Open your computer, plug it in, and connect to the internet.
2. Log into your computer with your provided email account and password
3. You will be prompted to change your password.
4. After changing your password click OK to authorize the password change.
5. You will see your Course Dashboard.
6. Click on the course card titled “Orientation.”
7. In the left-hand menu click on “Conferences” to access the live Orientation Session you would like to attend.

If you are logging in on a personal computer, please complete the following steps:

Go to mail.google.com/mail

• If you do not have any other google accounts or have never logged into google mail you will be prompted to enter an email and password. Use the provided information to log in.
• If you have existing google account, click on the drop-down carrot and choose “add another account.” Use your provided account info to log in. 
• Once you are logged into Google Mail with your provided account, open a new window and go to wa.vprep.com
• Click “Student Log-in” on the top, right-hand side of the website home page. you will be prompted to choose a Google account. Please select your school account.
• You will see your Course Dashboard.
