Virtual Preparatory Academy of Indiana at Madison-Grant invites students on a journey to explore Career Technical Education.
Career Technical Education, also referred to as CTE, integrates core academic learning with technical and occupational knowledge to prepare students for post secondary and future careers.
New for 2022-23, we will be offering students in grades 9-12 the opportunity for students to become CTE learners, where they can:
Within their CTE coursework, students will investigate professions of interest, and hear from real professionals in a variety of careers. In career courses, activities can include opportunities to explore career information and evaluate embedded soft skills to help students become aware of the skills they will need for the job.
Current Pathways:
Information Technology Operations – This pathway prepares students to support the processes and services administered by an organization’s Information Technology (IT) department to ensure all devices and technology systems are running smoothly. This includes support for hardware and software. Every organization that uses computers has some form of IT operations.
This will also prepare students for the Python and/or CompTia A+ Certification
What types of jobs are in IT Operations?
Digital Design – Careers in Digital Design combine technology and imagination to create media meant to be viewed on a screen or digital interface. This includes those occupations that use visual art, digital media, and Web-based tools and materials as the primary means of communication and expression.
Digital Design can be considered the next evolution of graphic design.

Career Technical Education (CTE) prepares learners for the real world. CTE provides students the ability to explore careers, gain real-world skills, and find a path to a career they are passionate about. CTE students often achieve higher graduation rates, attend school more frequently, become more engaged in the bigger picture and deepen ties to the greater good.
