Frequently Asked Questions

When is the start of school?

Start of school is on August 7, 2023. View our academic calendar here!

When do I receive my login credentials?

After enrollment is approved, your parent or guardian will receive a Welcome Email from your school. It will contain your student username/password along with parent username/password. If you do not see the email, check your spam/junk folders.

When do I find out who my student’s teacher is along with their contact information?

During the Welcome Call from your student’s Success Coach, coaches provide that information. Teacher contact information can be found on their course homepage and the school’s website.

What does my student do on the first day of school?

All students are required to attend the Live Orientation session with their Success Coach. This orientation happens on the student’s start date. During the Live Orientation, their Success Coach will provide the daily schedule for the rest of the week.

Does the school offer laptops if I don’t have one?

Yes, a question during enrollment asks if you need a school-provided laptop.

If I haven’t received my computer, who do I contact?

If you have not received your computer by your start date, you will contact the AMP help site for assistance. You can live chat, call, or submit a ticket directly from that website.

What supplies do I need for the start of school?

Have a designated workspace where you can be your best without distraction. Check that your equipment and internet are set up and working correctly. A pen/pencil and notebook are also helpful to have on hand. Your teacher will inform you if you need other supplies once school begins.

Are there live classes? Will my child see other children on camera?

Teachers lead live class sessions where you can see other students in attendance and breakout sessions with your teacher(s) to get one-on-one support. The teacher records all sessions, and you will have access to those recorded sessions after the class.

Can students work at their own pace?

Students receive offline time to complete their assignments outside of live class sessions. Assignments have due dates that each student is expected to meet. However, a student who works at a different pace than another student may spend more time on one assignment than the other.

Where can I find information about the curriculum offered?

We have curriculum information located on our website under Academics. Our curriculum is aligned with state standards. Our curriculum is nationally accredited by Cognia, a nonprofit organization that provides quality assurance for schools, school districts, and education service providers.

Do you teach CRT?

The ACCEL Schools network strives for student mastery of state learning standards in all subjects through curriculum and instruction aligned to these standards. Because Critical Race Theory (CRT) can mean different things to different people, we encourage you to look on your state’s Department of Education website to understand your state’s standards for learning that public schools must follow. ACCEL Schools recognizes that we serve a diverse group of more than 25,000 students across our public schools – encompassing many different experiences and beliefs. Our schools are committed to serving all students well and preparing every child for a successful future. To this end, ACCEL Schools works continuously to improve student learning outcomes and ensure inclusivity and equitability for every student who attends an ACCEL School.

Do you take students with IEPs, and Do you have special education teachers/program?

Yes. We provide a full continuum of special education services for all students who need such support. Our special education leadership and teachers will review any special education documents from your child’s previous school, hold a team meeting that will include the parents/guardians, and develop a plan to ensure the appropriate support is in place.

Can I enroll after the school start date?

Yes, you may enroll after the school start date.

Who do I contact if I have not heard back about my child’s enrollment?

You may reach out to the enrollment team.

When do you send the release of records? Do you notify my current school I am leaving?

When a school receives a records request from us, your previous school must withdraw the student from that school. It is best if the family notifies the previous school that they are withdrawing, as each school/state may have documents requiring guardian signatures. It is best to inform the school of your intention to move schools as soon as possible, and they can set the end date accordingly.

How does my child pick electives for the school year?

Students in grades K-5 will have PE, music, and art. First semester, students in grades K-2 will have music and PE. In grades 3-5, students will have art and PE in the first semester.
